As most of us know, MAYHEM is a very important band when it comes to the genre of Black Metal. The back story of this band almost reads like a morbid and groteque Greek Tragedy. The 2009 documentary Pure Fucking Mayhem lays most of the cards of the table. Watch the film for yourself – we would like to hear your feedback on this MAYHEM Doc!

Amazing documentary about the history of the band. It’s good to get a pretty definitive story about what’s it was like being in Mayhem.

Apparently, there aren’t enough documents and “backstories” about the same people and story.

beautiful, eerie soundtrack. informative. but they could have achieved much more given the rich history surrounding the band. most are interview snippets with that drunk, right wing Necrobutcher.

‘…that drunk, right wing Necrobutcher’
You do know what band you’re talking about, right?
This guy, eh.

Necro even missed out on their two most important releases (De Mysteriis… & Ordo ad Chao don’t feature his basslines). I do respect him as a founding member (and also for reviving it in ’95); but many of his comments in other documented interviews are just plain dull. Beyond the reasonable perspectives like nihilism, drug taking & misanthropy. Just plain dumb racism. Whatever.
