Ian Reid’s Sex, Hood, Skate & Videotape is one of the sickest skate films ever made!!!! I wish still had my copy, because I use to watch that shit on repeat. It has this straight DIY punk spirit about it, but at the same time it showed the real side of NYC skate life like no other, from the sleazy to the gritty to the silly. When I would peep Ian in my hood, I could just tell the dude did not give a fuck – he was living life by his own rules. Which brings me to the point of what Ian is doing with his life today – instead of making skate films, he has now become the go-to photographer for the NYC BDSM community. I knew the kid was an artist, and looking at his Tumblr it’s evident this dude has skills. He went from a grimy skate filmmaker to a respected photographer, and for this CVLT Nation salutes him.
