NSFW: Sexual Corruption, Violence & Eroticism from Tina Lugo

Tina Lugo’s art is full of color that seems to to jump out at you and smack you in the face. Her use of kink as subject matter draws you in more, but all of it is balanced of with a sense of humor. Her paintings remind me how at one point, life can be all nice, then all of a sudden something ugly happens to you. Lugo’s work does have an almost cartoon quality about it, but her paintings are full of sex and violent penetration of human flesh. Tina is influenced by the Japanese art movement Ero Guru Nansensu, but she puts her own twist on what she creates. I would love to one day have a couple of her paintings on our wall. It’s easy to tell Tina Lugo is comfortable in her own skin and creating from a space of honesty which is why I’m a fan of what she does!
