What happens when one of your favorite young video directors teams up with a band that are totally comfortable in their own skin? You get the new video by Godstopper, Everybody Writes Good Songs, directed by Justin Oakey and produced by Burial Offerings. I’m really impressed with the way Justin shot this video, it almost has a documentary vibe, plus it’s sort of creepy without trying too hard! As for the song itself, Godstopper are able to deconstruct the notion of what heavy music is supposed to sound like. Without giving too much away about the song, I will say that it is catchy, but not in a cornball way, in more of an awesome way! I have watched this video more than ten times, and I must say that there is something very inspirational about it, maybe it’s the fact that it was created with DIY sensibilities.
