Slipping into a state of deep meditation and subconscious exploration, my mind ringing with psychedelic drone…this is the experience of “Mega-Void,” the audio-visual trip by Darsombra. Brian Daniloski (Meatjack) and Ann Everton combine their skills to take you on a hypnotic journey on this DVD, which will be on sale on their upcoming West Cast tour starting next week (dates after the jump). “Mega-Void” pulsates with colors that are alive at an atomic level; almost immediately, the vibrating sounds and pulsating imagery pulls you deeper into yourself, a place where reality is animated by peyote and acid. In certain scenes, I feel as though I have become a flying insect, seeing the world through multi-faceted eyeballs, a dragonfly navigating through a world lit by UV. Time has frozen, but at the same time expands around me so that I am unaware of its passing. The forest is populated by faces that emerge and dissipate from its perfect geometry. This duo draws me in with an amazing piece of audio-visual art, and their live performance promises the same trance. Ear/Splitters and CVLT Nation are putting on their LA event, which will be on Feb 23rd at the Five Stars Bar w/ Totimoshi, Bell Witch & Yidhra.
