On of the most disturbing short films I have seen all year was created by the rapper Yelawolf and his partner Rittz. The name of the film is Gutter, directed Tyler Clinton – this visual goes places that might make you turn away! I have much respect for the lyrical content & visual direction of Gutter. Looking into the meaning of this visual, you can see that it’s a commentary about the society we live in! Watch it after the jump…

Really, the only thing disturbing is the stock footage, because REAL violence is always more disturbing that dramatized violence… And dramatized violence is rarely shocking anymore… If the social commentary suggests that being exposed to violence at a young age can mold murderers, I’m skeptical. If someone is going to grow into murder, they will, regardless of what waters the seed, be it Wolfmother and her exposing the child to this stock footage, or an Oliver Stone picture, or wanting to be infamous, or a Nicholas Sparks novel, or the mailman. Whatever. The wiring is wrong from the start.
