Crust

Liquid Assets…
IRON HAND
Review

Whoever said a 7 inch couldn’t pack a punch must not have heard that IRON HAND from New Haven was releasing one via Safety Meeting. This band has created three songs that are a cacophony of hyper-melodic, crust-laden soundwaves. IRON HAND has the golden touch of rad rage and if you don’t watch out, you might get smacked in the grill by one of their gnarly metallic riffs. The drumming on this record is off the chain; after one listen you will understand where I’m coming from. The guitar styles from this band are uber catchy, but I guess you could say it’s a brain disease that will have humming along. IRON HAND’s dual attack vocals are awesome – they hit you high, and they hit you low! Both of the vocalistS piss passion all over every track. As a unit, you can really hear that these dudes are not playing games, plus you can actually hear the respect they have for each other, because to get this tight it takes a lot of practice, which means many hours together. IRON HAND reconstructs the Screamers song, “122 Hours of Fear,” and do a really good job at making it their own. When “Liquid Assets” starts blasting through your speakers, then you will say to yourself, why have I not heard of this band before? IRON HAND manifest fast metallic crust the way it should be done, with a 100% of righteous fury! On the production tip, they sound huge/clean, but somehow the recordings never lose their edge. These dudes need to make a full length, I would be the first to buy it, because they have not created one song I haven’t liked yet. I will be reviewing their first 7 inch in the near future for sure. Here is another band that is going to make Blackened Everything Vol. 5 way sick!
