Freedom of Choice! DEVO
Live in Japan 1979 + More

I can’t front – DEVO was my gateway to the weird and unusual world of rad music. The year was 1980, way before the internet, so as you know, we really had to search out shit that was different. There was a show that came on at midnight on the weekends called “Night Flight” that helped give me my jump start, and introduced me to bands like DEVO, The Specials, The Clash etc. Anyway, there was something about these Ohio natives that struck a chord with me – I wanted to know everything about them and hear everything they ever created. Then DEVO came out with their video for “Freedom of Choice,” which had some of my idols skating at Marina Skate park, and from then on I was hooked even more. My interest in this band has remained a constant in my life; no matter what kind of headspace I have been in. In 1979, DEVO took their brand of awesome music to Japan, and today we would like to share with you this killer show in full. Are We Not CVLT Nation, We Are DEVO. Check this insane show after the jump, it’s your freedom of choice!
