I’m in a dancing mood, so I want to listen to some Trashcan Americana. This name is perfect for this music, which was created by the downtrodden people of this nation to describe their place in society and their everyday existence. Two Tone Wolf Pack from Denver released a killer EP called For Your Hellth. It is six songs of dark Americana that will have you slapping your knee & singing along to the twisted lyrics. Deep down, you can hear the punk roots of this band, plus it’s heavy as fuck because you can hear real life in these songs. When I listen to music like this, I hear the history of this nation, & no matter how ugly it got the poor people had their voices. Even today, it’s the humans that lace their boots high that are going to change this fucked up country. Have you ever seen a rad-looking old person with wrinkles in their face, & then thought to yourself how their skin told the story of their people? Well when I listen to Two Tone Wolf Pack, I hear the blues, which is the story of the working class. The lyrics on songs like “Dead Men Hangin” resonate with me in a very special way. I can’t really explain it, but ever since I was young the sound of the banjo opened up a weird place in my heart; honestly, I feel like it speaks to one of my past lives. The singers in Two Tone Wolf Pack are very powerful without screaming, & I can’t put my finger on it, there is something very gothic about this band. The lyrics on this EP are twisted, funny, honest, heartfelt & on point. We all bleed the same color, now let’s fight this struggle so we all can win!
