‘ROMEO IS BANISHED.’ – that might sound like the name of a new glamrock-band hailing from Las Vegas to destroy every sense of music and art in this world. But no : it is actually a kind of a headline for an amazing piece of art that is going to be published very soon.
‘EXILES’ is the name of a short-film written, produced and starred by Troian Bellisario. A few of you might know her from the ABC-series ‘Pretty Little Liars’ (which by the way is NOT that bad like everyone acts – come on guys, admit it ! How could you NOT love something written by the makers of ‘Gossip Girl’!?) but this young lady has a lot more to offer. You imght also know her from ‘Last Rites’ or ‘Lauren’. Her role in ‘Pretty Little Liars’ impressed me from the beginning so I wanted to know what this girl has got to say. I did the regular creeper-internet-stalking and found out that she was doing this short-film. ‘This short-film’ does not describe what EXILES actually is in any kind of way.
Plot
‘Forsaking everything she has ever known, a young girl braves punishment and death to join her condemned husband in exile. Reunited and finally free of their blood-stained past, the two lovers set out to build a new life together. But as days and then weeks pass in the endless, hostile desert, they realize how little they truly know about each other, and the banishment that was to be their new beginning tears their world apart.’ – (IMDB)

Fascination
Well, where to start. You may or may not have seen the trailer. If you have – what the fuck am I trying to tell you ? You’ve seen it, it’s amazing. And if you have not – WATCH IT. JUST FUCKING WATCH IT. You won’t regret it.
This trailer makes me so excited for the whole thing. Sonically, musically and visually stunning, it just struck me the first time i saw it. Troian Bellisario is a extremely talented young woman that I hope to hear more of in the near future. Shane Coffey is the perfect handsome psycho and Igor Kropotov sets the right moods for everything. FUCK, it’s just a trailer. But it’s so good.
The question Troian Bellisario is asking made me think about a lot of things : ‘ What if the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet wasn’t that they died… but that they lived?’ – think about that.
Release Date
Unfortunately not out yet, but I’ve been told it’s gonna be VERY soon, so watch out.

Nice idea and very pretty but… I was kind of waiting for a Calvin Klein banner to pop up at the end.
