This will be a short one. No need to go on too long with words to describe something that defies descriptions, labels or any other kind of categorization attempt. LEVIATHAN (not to be confused with the notorious black metal project) are a hardcore punk band from Rome, Italy, and just like the legendary sea monster they are named after, they rise from depths unknown with a force and intensity that is impossible to withstand. Seriously, this band just came out of fucking nowhere, with a release so unbelievably intense and unique, that once again you just wonder what the fuck could ever keep such talent relegated to the shadows.
LEVIATHAN‘s sound is a dark, brooding, desolate and completely desperate fusion of inconsolable hardcore punk and mauling noise rock. If you like bands like Dephosphorous, Vestiges and Ruined Families, and their melodic, dark, confrontational, desperate and visceral music shrouded in a maelstrom of buzzing guitars and razor wire riffs, then this shit is for you: From Ashes Rise, Void, Page 99, Propaghandi, Dropdead, Fugazi, Pavement and Hüsker Dü all fused and shape-shifted together in an unbelievably intense, beautiful, introverted and heart-splitting blast of pulverizing rage and desperation. Just for the fuck of it, and cause we couldn’t help it, we’re also streaming their debut demo even further below. Desperation is all we can think of when listening to this band. Total fucking endless desperation. We are floored.

My heart jumped but alas… Not the Leviathan I was hoping for. Still very good sounds though.
