One of my favorite art forms to collect is the silkscreened poster. They are an inexpensive way to get original artwork on your walls, and they are usually limited enough to appreciate in value. The silkscreened poster trend kind of died out in the 80s with those really thin paper cheapy mass-produced posters, but it has seen a big resurgence in the past couple of years, and many bands in underground metal put a lot of thought and investment into making their tour posters collectible. One of the most sought-after artists in NYC right now is Dilek Baykara, and she is currently selling three super rad prints on her webstore. They are limited to about 25 pieces each, and are beautifully printed on grey stonehenge paper. Ours are in the mail right now and I am super stoked to get them up on my walls! After the jump, check out some photos of the prints and make sure to pick yourself up some and support a creative human being…
