As an architect, Davit Yukhanyan has developed an eye for details, and the patience to find the perfect place for everything. So his vastly detailed illustrations make sense when you put them in the context of his background, but this doesn’t make them any less jaw-dropping. Both of the pieces featured below, Isolated Winner and And When You Lose Control, are a universe of life unto themselves. They remind me of a certain kind of vision I have sometimes – when I peer at world in just the right way and I can see the particles dancing in the air, reminding me that every breath I take is full of microscopic lives. Yukhanyan’s illustrations are like this; they are packed with pictures of every size, from the huge central figure to the medium sized faces in the background to the tiny creatures that inhabit the shadowy areas of the face. They are a fantastical look at a scientific fact – every molecule of our being interacts with the world in its own way, and the planet is literally crawling with creates great and small. Below you can see these two breathtaking illustrations in minute detail.
