Danish killing machine. Hexis “Seputus/Fatum”

The Danish killing machine Hexis have quickly became, since day one, one of my favorite bands for the moment. This Copenhagen based young band have already in their history a bunch of releases as they are currently on tour here in Europe. These guys have shared stage with great names like Celeste, The Secret and This Gift Is A Curse and quote on their influences several great names such as Deathpell Omega, Portal, Shora, Celeste, The Secret and many others. Where some try to fuse a lot of their influences, such as black metal, hardcore, crust, sludge, only few have come back with their own formula to success. Hexis are definitely one of them and probably one of the most important bands of the genre in Europe right now, leaving a trail of devastation wherever they go. The secret of Hexis? Well, their unique blend of chaotic hardcore and blackened sludge metal that spits these powerful waves of destruction capable of throwing you against the wall in the most epic and brutal way. Their sound resembles a lot like French band Celeste, but Hexis could be that evil twin sister who was separated at birth. The one who is cold, raw, ugly and you really don’t want to mess with for sure.

One of their releases is this 7″, “Seputus/Fatum”, compost by two tracks only that are also featured on their full-length “XI”, that is basically a compendium of all the themes the band has made so far. So, if you are you in for the most vicious, blackened and torturous blend of hardcore and metal you ever heard in your life? I strongly suggest you to grab any of these releases. Pressing “Play” equals opening the gates of Hell and unleashing all hate, despair and destruction upon Earth. “Seputus” starts with a thick barrier of riffs and a relentless rhythm capable of opening cracks on the floor, from there on we are dragged into these dark, thick almost palpable matter that fills the air, suffocating us. With “Fatum” you’re literally thrown into a pit full of wolves but before they do the hold you in the edge for a few seconds so that you can first see your fate. Heavy metallic riffs and black metal fueled beats tear apart what little is left of us after the previous track. Hexis music is like a tank caterpillar crushing everything and everyone in its path, one of the best acts coming out of Europe at this point. Luckily i will witness this maelstrom of chaos live later this September. Will i survive? Honestly i don’t know. Follow this fantastic band here and buy them some stuff here. Support the brutality.
