Sarabante is from Greece: a country with unrivaled history and greatness as their foundation; however, for those of you not following the current socio-political climate unfolding across the world, Greece is hurting. Currently cities across Greece are hotbeds of frustration, discontent and despondent angst due to failed austerity measures and economic woes. This current social and political climate seems to fuel Sarabante’s music, as the desperation, cynicism, and frustration of the modern condition is tangible and palpable in every note and every verse.
Recently the band filmed a video at a show in their hometown of Athens to illustrate that punk is alive and well despite—and perhaps because of—these current struggles. The song, “Under The Shadows” is the b-side ripper of a recently released 7” on Man In Decline Records and it speaks to the issues above: subjugation, a silenced heritage, and the looming threat of the military industrial complex.

For a band that seems interested in their Grecian identity… they don’t seem to mention what position they take on their country’s situation. I wonder if they support the Golden Dawn movement? As they’re the only group trying to properly re-build the nation of Greece anyway (despite all the propaganda against them).

Nick Petrichos is the dop in this clip ( director of photography) the name of the video clip director and the first camera operator is Sergios Vafeiadis.
