The fight is on & Black September is leading the pack! This Chicago blackened crust death metal band is super rad. Their album The Forbidden Gates Beyond, first a self-release LP, and soon to be re-released on Prosthetic Records on June 7th, is a must have if you like your crust mean dirty political. Black September songs are blackened anthems of widespread destruction. They mix music styles with balance & precision. Songs like “Unleashed” have the death groove that shakes your bones. The metallic guitar work on this album is top notch, while the vocal delivery is caustic & filled with a crusty rage that quakes the downpressors. Black September music also has the emotional layers to it that allow you to a find dark hope in their enjoyable blackened chaos.
