Some days, when I miss the damp fog and looming forests of Vancouver, I explore Seth Bennett‘s artwork. He delves into the nightmares that exist behind the wall of grey, the beasts that rule the wilderness of our minds. His work has a dream-like quality to it; his inspiration may carry the weight of darkness, but he shows it to us glowing softly out of the black. This softness belies the threat in his illustrations – these are not melancholy visions, they are Satan himself coming to rip your head off and eat your steaming entrails, the signs of a deliciously disturbed mind. When not in his evil reverie, Bennet runs a Lynchburg-based label called Scattered to the Winds Productions alongside Andrew of Lynchburg’s Towards Global Holocaust. If his label stands for anything like his personal ethics – “Easily offended people: FUCK OFF” – then I am totally stoked to check out his releases! After the jump, check out a gallery of Seth Bennett’s art, and make sure to also check out Scattered to the Winds’ releases…
