Some bands make me want to stick my head into a big bucket of voodoo, because all of their songs just drip with a killer mojo. Discharge gave the world D-Beat, Black Sabbath gave the world Doom, and the The Birthday Party gave us their bastard children INCA BABIES. This group of weirdos banged out that primal sound in the 80’s that made us want to dance in the garbage cans. INCA BABIES took the blue,s mixed that shit with off-kilter post punk, and put us all under their spell. If there was a soundtrack to a Rat Fink drawing, this band would be it’s creators, because all of their tunes were total sonic sleaze! Looking back on it, as a young teenager I didn’t realize how the INCA BABIES were turning us all on to roots music in their own subversive way. They unified the Cycobilly scene with the Deathrock scene, plus all of the freaks in between. Today, CVLT Nation would like to celebrate these voodoo wizards INCA BABIES with a video essay, with footage from the famous Hacienda.
