Since 2007 Axidance were primarily known as a Russian neocrust styled band. In the last while they started experimenting with their sound and added tribal and shamanic percussion elements to their music. The new split with Zavod from the Ukraine, is like an ancient and modern shamanic journey. Opening with downcast tremolo guitar, in unison with tormented snarls and cries of despair. Blackened crust at it’s best, but then evolves into howling wolf cries warding off potential predators. Transcending into monophonic chants then breaking off abruptly into scathing black metal.
Axidance – The Last Cry of Nature / Part I
A previous release has been a benefit for victims of the war in South Ossetia. This new split release is a benefit for the Anarchist Black Cross. The split CD comes out on Black Cardinal Records and Иакх Records, a Russian label who gives proceeds of it’s releases to nature protection, animal rights, green left community and paganism against fascism. The cassette tape is done by They Live! Records. Currently Axidance are working on new material for a split LP with Czech band Gattaca.
