If you are a reader of CVLT Nation, then you know that we are HUGE fans of DEAF KIDS from Brazil. Actually, the mastermind behind this group is a young man named Douglas Leal, and he does everything himself. Their new album The Upper Hand is a sign that this band is growing and expanding their aggro d-beat sound to include his dirty doom-laden visions of the world! I’m not going to give it all away, but I will say that DEAF KIDS have again created one of my favorite releases of the year. Today CVLT Nation is exclusively streaming their new tune “You’re Mine” plus two songs from the DEAF KIDS bandcamp, “Drugged With Happiness” & “Void.” From these three songs, you are able to hear how Douglas’ soundscapes can change from song to song but still retain their power!
