DEATH HAMMER Vol. 1

I was asked to make a death metal mixtape so I just put together a bunch of tracks I enjoy. Maybe you’ll like them too. Simple right?

These run the spectrum in sound and style within death metal I think, some old and some recent. Songs from bands that are well known like Ulcerate and Immolation, or others like Timeghoul and Led Astray never lived long enough to get their strong sounds out there. Then there’s old masters that many seem to have been forgotten like Iniquity, The Chasm, and Mithras, and the newcomers that have quite a few underground eyes on them such as Ignivomous, Ritual Necromancy, and Antediluvian.

You may be surprised that I did not include some classics like Bolt Thrower, Seance, Autopsy, Obituary, Dismember, etc. which is sure to draw some annoyance, and the same goes for leaving out groups like Defeated Sanity, Anata, Disgorge, Portal, Lykathea Aflame, etc. All of which I do enjoy I assure you but I couldn’t include everything.

Anyway I suggest you check out and buy the record that each of these are torn from in full. A full track list is right below. Enjoy.
