It’s time for another installment of the Creepiest Photo Album. This time I have done my best to title each photo with the name of the photographer or subject, so if you hover over it that will pop up if I was able to find it. These photos are mostly vintage and inexplicably weird. Some of these chilling images were created and others just happened in the way that old analog cameras sometimes caused weird, unintentional effects on the film. Some of these were meant to be scary and others were not. Either way, you will find this collection of photos enticing and terrifying. After the jump, check out The Creepiest Photo Album Part IV…

Spooky stuff! The LaMarr one reminds me of an early version of Hellraiser’s Pinhead.

This is FANTASTIC! I was surprised to find one of our photos here (from http://tinyurl.com/o87yg62) – I’m the photo archivist at the Smithsonian’s National Anthropological Archives, but I’ve always thought that photo was full of dread. At any rate I am totally impressed with your unique talent of finding truly creepy photos. Hat off to you.

You could try a Google Image search by drag & drop to see what pops up…some of them may be in the public domain but others might be new.

No, actually not, one of them is taken from a Guy Maddin film called “My Winnipeg”, which is copyrighted. Would have been nice to see picture credits and actual information about some of them. Looks like this kvlt site has now reduced itself to resourcing images from other pages, Tumblr, etc. Svd times. Clivkbait Nation more like.

An amazing collection here- it’d be nice to know which of these are genuine old photos, and which of these are fakes/ montages made using software. I only ask because I see one of my photomontages there, based on a Victorian photo but with lots of things added. I’ll leave it to you to guess which one that is.
