The countdown has begun…on June 3rd, 2011, the mighty Amebix release their single “Knights of the Black Sun” on vinyl 12″ via Profane Existence, & digitally on iTunes through the band’s own Amebix Records imprint. Amebix has been conjuring up some of my favorite sonic monoliths for many years, & with this release they just constructed another monolith high above the universe. What makes their new single “Knights of the Black Sun” so awesome is the the giant leap into the future that the band have taken with their sound. When you listen to “Knights of the Black Sun” your feet will be on the ground, but by the time the track is over you will be in on another plane of existence. This song manifests their rad spirit of dark melodic bliss – Amebix has become more vocal-driven than I have ever heard them, with lyrics that captivate you. I am speaking to all fans of Amebix – play this song three times, then you will be hooked, plus you will have your ticket for the journey that this band will be taking you on with the release of their upcoming brand-new full-length, Sonic Mass, which will see a September 20th release via Amebix Records/Easyaction. After the jump check out some really cool details about the release of this single, plus we have some surprises for your viewing pleasure!

Very excited for the release of this. I had the opportunity to do the art work for this release and for the full length coming out in Sept. A dream I would have never imagined in a million years.
