The anticipation had been building for three days. With amazing gigs by bands like Amenra, Ufomammut, Necro Deathmort and Oxbow Duo, the 2012 edition of Amplifest was an ever-climbing ladder, culminating in the very last show of the festival. On the evening of October 28th, Godspeed You! Black Emperor took to the stage, their typically elaborate and numerous set-up already impressive even before they played a single note. As the show unfolded, intertwined with the visual projections, I tried to capture a little bit of the magic that was felt by everyone in the room.
