Winteraxe…The Art of Halseycaust

You might not get my title right now…but in a couple of months you will see what I mean. I am alluding to the fact that CVLT Nation Two features a design by the one and only Halseycaust, and to say the least it’s fucking sick. I want it now, and trust me, you do too, but we will have to wait until September. Portland-based Halseycaust is well-known in the metal artwork scene for her intensely detailed album cover, flyer and t-shirt artwork. I really want to go to her house and just look around…it must look like the raddest metal gallery. She has worked with a huge number of bands, too many to name, but some of her latest pieces have gone to Amebix, The Accused, Hellshock and Havok. The fact that each piece is literally hand-done, no Photoshop or technology, is highly impressive, especially when you get the opportunity to see one of her pieces close up and note the details and texture. Halseycaust’s artwork rises from the dead to rip your skull open and eat your brains. She creates nightmare images, but allows you to see the beauty in the blackness of their souls. When you work with her, you see how the ideas churn through her twisted mind and come out as pure evil amazingness. After the jump, take a look through some of her latest works…
