When you are living it, sometimes you can’t see history, because it’s right in front of you. But when I saw Discharge on their second US tour, I knew I was seeing something special. It’s one of those things – we were all a little sad when they started going metal. But what Discharge started in the 80’s, led to kids in Japan in the 90s starting something new with the original Discharge sound at its’ foundation, and the band DISCLOSE was born. Until 2007, with the untimely death of their front man Kawakami, this band waved the flag of Dis-Beat high. One thing I have always loved about what was happening in Japan is that they took the best parts of the early Discharge sound, expanded on it, and made it their own, and my nostalgia for Discharge found a new home. DISCLOSE always gave rad performances, and today you get to see them for yourself along with some of their radical album art. So after the jump, let’s shout NEVER AGAIN and peep the footage NOW!
