The FALL Doc… The Wonderful and Frightening World of Mark E. Smith

One of Britian’s greatest musical exports is total nutter, but a genius at the same time, and he goes by the name of Mark E. Smith. Since 1976, he has been the leader of The FALL – members might come and go, but he stays the same. He has created some of the most interesting post punk in the past three decades. As a young dude, I used to think that he and his band were totally bonkers. I really started listening to them in 1983. What I have always respected about The FALL is that they never tried to fit into what many perceive as cool, but they have always done things on their own terms. Mark E. Smith is a killer songwriter that has the skills to pay the bills. Whenever he wants to write a subversive pop tune, he has no problem in making that happen, just check his resume: “Totally Wired,” “The Mans Whose Heads Expanded” etc. Too many The FALL fans think he is a living legend, a fact that would probally make his skin crawl. Mark E. Smith also has a crazy side that breathes anger and sometime violence. He and his band have released over twenty albums and counting. Today, we are stoked to be featuring the killer The FALL documentary, The Wonderful and Frightening World of Mark E. Smith…below see who has the new face in hell and see how a madman creates ART.
