War Zone! East L.A. Gangs 1978 Mini Documentary

This 1978 mini documentary about East L.A. is pretty sad in the sense that you see how the life is being passed down from generation to generation. It makes me wonder if the young kids in this film made it out of gang life. One important fact that is left out are the LAPD and their racist tactics that have helped to keep these hoods at war with one another.

Probably didnt make it out unfortunately. Growing up with people involved in gangs has shown me that its a vicious cycle of violence and fear. Its hard to escape and overcome kinda bums me out but watching docs like this give me a sense of nostalgia but also makes me realize and recognize the dangers of escaping gang life in specific parts of the country. Thanks for the share.
