CVLT Nation Streaming NOISE-A-TRON “Vast Arcane”

Two things popped into my head when I first heard about NOISE-A-TRON from Seattle, before I listened to their upcoming full-length Vast Arcane via Bleeding Light Records. The first thing was my instinctive skepticism about them based on their name – kind of the same thing I felt when I heard the name Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard – am I really going to like this music? The second thought happened when I saw the artwork for Vast Arcane, which is right up my space alley – OK, this looks pretty cool, and Vast Arcane is a sick name for an album… Then I put the album on, and I felt like I’d been transported into my own private Space Odyssey. Suddenly I was traveling at light speed through a wormhole, the colors and sacred geometry whirling past me as I delved deeper and deeper into the darkness of my own mind. The tempos they play with, ranging from galloping drums to slow-as-molasses feedback and drone, make Vast Arcane feel like an epic, taking you on lifelong audio journey wrapped up in a half-hour package. Now that I’ve heard Vast Arcane, there are two things I need to do: get this on vinyl (which you can pre-order here) so that I can do this feedback some justice; and then see them live, which I’m going to have to wait for since they aren’t stopping in Vancouver on their May 2015 tour, but if you’re on the west coast of the US then make sure you check the dates below, as well as watch the video they just released for their song “Six”…
