1985 Grass + Acid For A Trip to The tour feat. Hüsker Dü, the Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Saccharine Trust

Many heads that grew up in the early 80’s scene started to have a more open mind when it came to music by the mid 80’s. A big part of this was the label SST, because they were putting out bands that were brave enough to go against the status quo of Hardcore. Case in point was the 1985 SST tour featuring Hüsker Dü, the Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Saccharine Trust and SWA – these bands were creating indie rock before the term ever existed, back then we called it “alternative” or “college” rock. Whatever the case, all of these bands had their roots in the punk or hardcore scene but were willing to experiment with their sound. I remember the night my homie Jordan dragged me to the tour stop at UCLA – it was a show I will never forget! Now it’s your chance to check out Hüsker Dü, the Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Saccharine Trust and SWA get their bug out on in San Francisco.
