Kris Kuksi Seattle Opening of “Pneumatic”

Kris Kuksi is set to open his most recent collection of works tonight at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle, WA. This collection of extremely intricate and creepy sculpture is entitled “Pneumatic,” which the artist describes as “post industrial rococo.” I would describe it as a horrifying uniform chaos, drawing the viewer into it’s damning abyss. There is a decaying look to these works – moldy cherubs and peeling edifices that convey a sense of forgotten beliefs and hidden power. I feel like this is art that I could spend hours looking at and never fully grasp what’s there. Kuksi hails from Kansas, a place that I assume would conjure up freaky images in anyone’s mind.
