Intense Full Sets Feat. Svartidauði & Misþyrming

Iceland has been turning out some of the most insane bands recently, and they don’t seem like they will be stopping anytime soon! Check out these two amazing full sets from Svartidauði and Misþyrming that were captured by Nordic Underground. CVLT Nation has something special in the works with our Icelandic Brethren, so stay tuned! You can also peep this rad feature that Noisey just put up about the Icelandic fest ORATION MMXVI.

Three pressings and i still habe not got that Misthyrming album, i did downloaded it for free when it came out (The band allowed you to do it) and i was blown away, i must save money for the fourth pressing if it happens.

I was under the impression that CVLT Nation did not give platform to racists. So, unless my ears deceive me (in hearing “Heil Hitler”), and my eyes misinterpret the armed gesture by the vocalist in Svartidauði (at 1:02)- I am curious about your current stance on such things.

Will see the latter in April at Roadburn. Not developed an opinion on them yet.

Alex seem to be good live… but does sound rather generic tbh.

They are heavily hyped at the moment (for such a new band). Will give them a solid listen.

I read the articles about this scene recently. Sounds interesting and the bands have their moments but a lot of it sounds like what the French were doing in the 2000s

Ikil Luminis so what in your opinion has been innovative bm-wise post the French scene?

Hmm. I would probably look at bands like Acherontas, Batushka. They have taken the soundstyle further and made their own take on it.

The bands from Quebec have used the Norwegian influence but have used their culture and history to carry their style further.

Black Twilight Circle is another place to look at as well. Again, using their culture in the style
