Sometime I hear the most fucked up music, I can’t help myself, I get fucking hyped! This is just the case with WHORELORD from Madison, WI, who released an ultra gnarly demo last year via Lurk Sleep Kill. I don’t know what to call this music, besides ear garbage that I don’t mind ingesting! WHORELORD serves up four tasty maggot-filled gems that ooze death and speed. You can hear an apocalyptic vibe happening in their riffs, and their primeval drumming will wake the dead. What turns my blood black is the vocals’ they are delivered in a nasty, diseased way that kills brain activity with each listen. WHORELORD also has a sinister melodic grove that’s catchy in it’s own demented way. When you hear the intro to “Dreamreaper,” you will realize that this band is on their own planet of rotten weirdness, and then one of their madman riffs kicks in! If every death scene had a soundtrack to it, these songs would fit perfectly. When I listen to this demo, I have visions of the end of the world, and honestly, it looks pretty fucking awesome. WHORELORD have the right balance of black metal, death metal and punk all working together to create perfect moments of mayhem. Check out their tune “Grindstormer,” and there is no way that you will not be a fucking convert: if the vocals don’t kill you, the chaotic grooves will! This band picked the kind of production that only amplifies their madness – lo-fi to the max – which makes this demo black gold. WHORELORD went into the studio on a mission to create a collection of songs that were like no others, and they did just that. These humans put out four songs that are ugly, gritty, filthy and otherworldly all at the same time. You can tell this band enjoyed making this demo, and all they wanted to do was to be themselves. The word on the street is that thid band has broken up, but I really hope this is not true, because I want to hear more!
