Hi, what are you looking for?

Avant Garde

AMPLIFEST 2015 is almost upon us…

Every year, AMPLIFEST keeps getting better. Last year, our correspondent José Carlos Santos left us with his sense of yearning for this year’s edition, and when we look at the lineup – featuring AMENRA, ALTAR OF PLAGUES, CONVERGE, FULL OF HELL and WIEGEDOOD amongst many others – we can see that he was right on the money. Amplifest is set in the town of Porto, Portugal, and is once again gracing the stage of the Hard Club for two days of tormenting sonic beauty on September 19th and 20th. Tickets are limited but as of writing this are still available here, and they are a steal considering the quality of lineup you will be witnessing. Amplifest is about the full experience, of which the music is one part, but you will also be able to attend talks hosted by musicians and writers like Amenra’s C H Van Eeckhout and Mathieu Vandekerckhove; our very own Luiz Mazetto and past CVLT Nation contibutors José Miguel Rodrigues and Emanuel Pereira; plus Stephen O’Malley, Kurt Ballou and Mories. It’s a fucking shame we live so far away from this magical place – all I can say is that if you are anywhere near Portugal, you have no excuse not to be at this year’s fest! You can find all the info you need on the Amplifest site here. Stay tuned for more coming soon…

If only this kind of thing could happen on U.S. soil. Like, in the Northeast. Upstate, rural New York.

My backyard is big. Just saying.
